|Karson's restaurant first appears in the diary on April 21st. It apparently was a little more upscale than Parnell or the Minuet Grill. Karson's was open late, and had some tasty pie, barbecue beef, and Chicken Club sandwiches.
“Karson's restaurant, next to the Stratford, was a great restaurant but a little expensive for us (unless our dates paid).”
Note: There is a Karson's Restaurant & Pancake House on 95th Street in the southwest suburb of Evergreen Park; I don't know if there's any relation. The well-known Carson's (with-a-"C") Ribs didn't exist in 1945.
