Remaining teams
Bella and Douglas (Chicago Cats), Climber and Pinta (Brown County Cats), Ernie and Socks (Rejected Presidential Cats), Fancy Feast and Chef's Blend cats (Friskies Spokescats), Hedley and McClurg (Skunks), Mei Xiang and Tian Tian (Panda Bears).
The sleeping pandas are enjoying the cool Moscow night when they're awakened by Phil to leave for their next destination: the Egyptian Museum, in Cairo, Egypt, where they will find the Route
Marker next to the King Tut exhibit.
A ROUTE MARKER is a flag that marks the locations of further instructions.
The other five remaining pairs arrive at the Moscow airport and all are booked on the same flight into Egypt, arriving at 1:30 P.M. While waiting at the airport, the pandas and skunks decide to form a Black/White alliance against the cats. Bella sleeps, Climber climbs up to the ceiling, Socks and Ernie play with a piece of string, and F.F. hisses at Douglas.
Friends of Cairo
Upon landing, each team rushes off to the taxi stand. And they're off to the Museum! Bella and Douglas get in the lead, with the Climber and Pinta and Socks and Ernie close behind. F.F. and C.B. argue about which taxi to take. The pandas and skunks are a little upset that the cats get preferential treatment - after all, their ancestors were gods in Egypt!
Socks and Ernie find the route marker first with their instructions: to
ride down the Nile in a boat to the Great Pyramids at Giza. This time, it's Douglas who is the object of the public's affections; he looks just like those ancient statues of the cat goddess for sale in every souvenir stand. Fortunately, he and Bella, along with Climber and Pinta, escape being turned into cat mummies and follow the rejected presidential team down to the river. It's a three-way race for first as, surprisingly, the cats scrape their paws in the water to help propel the boats along.
Back at the Museum, the Black and Whites arrive together and head off to the Nile. F.F. and C.B. are now in last, and when they get down to the river, F.F. refuses to help paddle. Instead, she sits there like some feline Cleopatra while C.B. hisses at her.
Socks and Ernie have arrived just ahead of Bella and Douglas, and they see (much to their collective dismay) six camels, which they are supposed to ride over to the Pet Stop for the night, which is located in between the paws of the Sphinx. While the clawed cats have no trouble hanging on, Douglas
keeps slipping off.
The PET STOP is the end destination for each leg of a race, at which point a Team must "clock in." The last Team to arrive at most PET STOPs is eliminated from the race. A Team will leave the PET STOP at the same time they clock in, only at the opposite time of day; for instance, a Team that clocks in at 9 am will leave at 9 pm.
It's Sphinx
But wait, what's going on over at the Pet Stop? The famous greeter doesn't seem
too happy. "What is that thing? Where's it's fur? Is it sick? Is it even a real cat??" Host Phil Kiwi explains that it's a hairless Sphynx cat, but unfortunately, Omar Sharif don't like it! Nevertheless, he is there with the Sphynx to welcome Socks and Ernie to Egypt, followed by Bella and Douglas, and Climber and Pinta. Douglas vaguely remembers these sculptures from the pictures his owner brought home from Las Vegas.
The pandas, having arrived on the bank, are allowed to walk with the camel rather than ride it. They are next, and the skunks just behind.
"F.F. and C.B., you're the sixth team to arrive", says host Phil. "However, this is a non-elimination round, and you can stay in the race."

Next time, on THE AMANXING RACE: The females get an announcement that goes to their heads - and will the cats think they're in the world's largest litterbox? Elsewhere, a "fallen comrade's" owner throws a Fancy Feast.
